Why choose Saalbach Hinterglemm?
The resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm is made up of twin villages that lie 3 kilometres apart. The resort hosted the World Cup championships in the early 1990s and continues to attract a discerning, international guest list. Saalbach Hinterglemm is a favourite destination for groups, making either one an excellent choice for your school’s winter sports trip. With pedestrianized centres, the resorts are that bit safer for your students.
Remaining true to their traditional Alpine roots, Saalbach and Hinterglemm are renowned for their lively après-ski scenes, offering a host of cafés, restaurants and bars to choose from. Giving you access to one of Austria’s most impressive ski areas, the villages are geared up with every ski resort amenity you could hope for, including a wide-ranging infrastructure incorporating great links and a fantastic lift system.
New for Winter 2016, the ski area will be extended even further, with a link over to Fieberbrunn. This will up the skiable domain to 270 kilometres, making the area one of the largest in Austria.
On the piste
You’ll find plenty of beginners’ slopes available to help novices gain confidence. They’re equally well suited to seasoned skiers who need a moment to get their ski legs back. Head to the quieter slopes of Leogang and the excellent beginners’ area, which many of our groups find to be great starting points for the week.
For the more advanced members of your group, more challenging red and blue runs are in no short supply, while black runs from the top of the Schattberg and Zwölfer mountains are in reserve for those who really want to push the boat out. Internationally renowned snow park will keep your boarders happy.
