Why choose Lofer?
Locally known as a ‘Schneeloch’, owing to its success in attracting more snowfall than surrounding resorts, Lofer has a long and successful history of hosting British skiers and school groups. The quaint village centre features a pedestrianised zone and sits directly at the bottom of the main lift leading to excellent skiing on well-groomed pistes, which cater to all abilities.
Those who’ve worked up an appetite tackling several slopes can take a breather in one of a wide choice of cosy mountain huts and welcoming restaurants, which add to the charm of the area. Unken is a pretty border town close to the historic city of Salzburg and the Loferer Alm ski area. Brimming with unspoilt Alpine charm, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Its indoor swimming pool in the centre of the village is a popular activity with groups.
On the piste
In Lofer, modern lifts, north-facing slopes and excellent lift technology make your school ski trip go that little bit smoother. The resort’s long-established, nurturing ski school is ideally set up to cater to school groups. For those staying in Unken, Lofer is just a short coach ride away.
