SKI & SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTION
Based on our standard, advertised arrangements you will be provided with a ratio of 1 instructor to 12 students (free places do not count in the calculation of this ratio and the ratio may be exceeded in the case of smaller groups). This is the ratio for which we have charged you and which is included in our prices.

If you have booked the standard group size of 40-43 paying persons with 5 free places you are unlikely to experience any difficulty: you will be provided with 4 instructors which works out at a ratio of 1:10 or 1:11 instructors to students and 1:12 even including free places. Please refer to booking condition 16c.

There are, however, a number of circumstances where things may not work out so well:

   1. If your group is smaller than the standard minimum of 40 paying or you have a smaller group travelling by air. Please refer to booking condition 3f and 16c. Further, the smaller the group the fewer the number of instructors provided and the more chance there is of group abilities not working out satisfactorily.

   2. If you have a group of snowboarders or a mixed group of skiers and snowboarders. Please refer to HTS brochure page 6 (Snowboarding), booking condition 16b and the "Snowboarding" page on this website. Our standard snowboard supplement of £40 covers the extra cost of hiring snowboard equipment and the extra cost of a snowboard (as opposed to a ski) instructor but it does not cover the provision of any extra instructors. As Snowboarders require a 1:8 instruction ratio and as mixed ski and snowboard groups of varying ski and snowboard abilities can cause serious grouping difficulties, you will require an extra instructor at a fixed rate of £750 (29-05-2008) which will automatically be added to your invoice. You may, in certain circumstances, even require two extra instructors.

Only you know what the composition of your party is and only you will be able to monitor the position as it changes prior to departure.

In view of the above information, particularly if you have an all-snowboard or a mixed ski and snowboard group, please carefully read the "Snowboarding" page on this website.
