Wilanow Castle, Warsaw
The Royal Palace of Wilanow is one of the few grand residences to have survived the many wars and partitions of Polish history. Taken over by the state and completely restored, it is now a branch of the National Museum with many examples of Polish art.
National Museum, Warsaw
This museum has some impressive exhibits including: Polish art catalogues, history books and a fine collection of old maps and prints. Further displays cover examples of Christian, Byzantine and Italian artwork.
Lazienki Palace, Warsaw
Also called the palace on the water, this remarkable building houses some splendid examples of 18th century furniture as well as artwork collected by Stanisław Lubomirski. The palace is set on an artificial island in the middle of Warsaw’s attractive Lazienki Park.
