On-site Activities

Archery
Under the guidance of our specially trained chateau archer your pupils can find out more about the equipment and methods used in firing a real bow and arrow. The chateau has 3 archery targets all safely located in a secure area.

Blind Trail
Guided by our professional activity and entertainments team pupils will be blind-folded and taken through a series of obstacles and tasks designed to test their nerve, trust and ability to communicate and work as a team.

Circus Frenzy
‘Roll up Roll up!' Have you ever felt like a circus ring master? Well this chateau session will teach pupils the art of devil-sticks, plate-spinning, bubble blowing and other fantastic circus activities.

Football/Rugby pitch
Our fantastic grade A sports pitch is perfect for sports teams to train and play amongst themselves or against local opposition. (Call us for details.)

Multi-purpose sports court
Sports students will love this new court that is suitable for tennis, basketball, netball and 5-a-side football.

Swimming pool
Our heated outdoor swimming pool has just received some new decking to bring it right up to date as a fun and healthy outdoor activity. (Open end of May to beginning of September.)

Chateau BBQ
A large selection of sausages, chicken wings, burgers, salads, pasta salad and dessert. A great way to enjoy an evening meal outside in the chateau grounds.

Cidre & Crepes
Small groups can watch a cooking demonstration in the chateau restaurant. The crepes will be served before the main evening meal. Cidre will be replaced with apple juice for younger children however; a small glass of Normandy cidre can be served with parental consent.

Frogs’ legs & Snails
Usually served between the starters and the main meal. This is a great bit of fun and really challenges pupils to push their boundaries and try something new!

Cheese board
After an evening meal pupils and teachers can try a selection of French cheese and crackers. Approx 6 cheeses will be presented on a traditional wooden cheese board.

Karaoke
Children are given a microphone so they can sing-a-long to lyrics on the TV screen in the lounge area.

Chateau du Molay’s got talent!
X factor - Chateau style! Why don't your group practise their dance moves and singing ability as a team or on their own? Our dance floor and lounge area make a great venue for any wannabe superstar - dressing up and showing off are actively encouraged!

Disco & Popmobility
Students can wear fancy dress and dance to the tunes supplied by our resident DJ. The disco also has a smoke machine and laser display while glow-sticks are available at the bar! During the afternoon the chateau staff can help pupils work on their dance

Live sporting events
Your team or group can watch a live rugby or football match and compare and contrast skills, techniques and crowd songs to UK equivalents. Caen has a top rugby side and a second division football team which play the likes of Nantes and Nimes throughout the season.
