Insurance

Working as an appointed representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Limited (Financial Conduct Authority registration number 307304), we are able to provide peace of mind when your school is away on the slopes. Specifically geared to school ski trips abroad, we are able to offer winter sports cover which includes your group’s participation on the slopes and any tour optional extras.

Matching the requirements outlined by most LEAs, our standard policy includes the following cover:

cancellation or curtailment - up to £3000

emergency medical expenses - up to £5 million

legal advice and expenses - up to £25,000

missed departure - up to £1000 (in the UK £500)

organiser’s liability - up to £5 million

personal accident - up to £25,000

personal baggage - up to £1,500 (under 18s £1,250)

personal liability - up to £2 million

personal money - up to £500 (under 18s £200)

piste closure – up to £500

ski equipment – up to £500

It is important you read the insurance policy prior to completing your booking so you are fully aware of the levels of cover provided by the cover, especially with regard to anyone within your school ski group with any pre-existing medical conditions. We suggest details of the insurance are emailed to all involved with the ski trip at the time of booking to ensure they (and if under 18, their parents or guardians) are aware of the full terms of cover.

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

We highly recommend all within your group obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) (formerly known as E111) prior to travelling on your HTS Total Ski trip to Austria. Many state hospitals and doctors in the European Economic Area (EEA) accept this should a member of your group seek medical assistance. The EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance and may not cover the cost of all treatment or repatriation as per that received in the UK.

Alternative providers of student travel insurance

If you decide to make your own travel insurance arrangements, adequate and valid travel insurance must be secured prior to travelling with HTS Total Ski. It is a condition of completing your booking with HTS Total Ski that you agree to obtain adequate travel insurance (including winter sports cover) by the date of departure. It is crucial there are no exclusion clauses which limit cover for the winter sport activities that form the basis of your school ski trip to Austria.
