The world's very first Alpine tourist destination, Switzerland still offers to this day the best known, high-level international ski resorts such as Zermatt, St Moritz, Davos, Klosters, Gstaad, Verbier and the Jungfrau, all of which are included in the HTS programme. The scenery is dramatic: one need only think of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Matterhorn mountains, the Furka, Susten and Grimsel passes and Lakes Geneva, Constance, Spiez and Thun.
Standards are high everywhere and hotels are consistently good. Journey times from the UK are mostly shorter.
