Many groups take advantage of the ski pass which combines Ötz at the north end of the valley with Sölden and its famous glaciers at the south end. Ötz is a compact and interesting ski area with long runs and challenging slopes. A modern lift system is in place and the absence of drag lifts, apart from on the beginners’ slopes, has enhanced its popularity. Sölden is one of Europe’s most sought after ski destinations with 2 superb snow record and two glaciers. Sölden is also a popular snowboarding destination.
HTS local knowledge
There are two glaciers at Sölden which are open for most of the year and provide a training ground for national ski teams. They open periodically during the winter depending on the snow conditions. Snowboarders should check out the Fun Park above the Giggijoch lift, whilst those seeking a true panorama should make their way to the top of the Gaislachkogel at over 3000m.
new on the slopes
