Ski Info

  • High-level skiing with the superb Pitztal Glacier close at hand
  • Safe snow
  • Pretty villages with a traditional Alpine atmosphere
  • Increase in snow-making capacity plus new restaurant “Sunna Alm” (2300m) on Rifflsee ski area

The Pitztal is completely unspoilt and characterised by traditional villages and hamlets strung along the valley floor - from the town of Imst in the north to the village of Mandarfen in the south. There are three ski areas, the Hochzeiger, Rifflsee and the Pitztal Galcier. Though most groups prefer to ski on the Glacier and Rifflsee, a full valley pass is possible for those seeking more kilometres and variety. The area is especially recommended for early and late season skiing due to the long winter season. Our groups stay in the attractive hamlet of Piösmes, giving them easy access to all ski areas in the Pitztal.

On The Slopes
The Pitztal offers glacier skiing at its best, the Pitz Express transports skiers in a matter of minutes from the valley to the base of the glacier at 2840m. From here, over 50km from wide open pistes invite skies of all abilities to enjoy the excellent snow and spectacular views. The Pitz Panoramabahn transports skiers to an astonishing 3440m. The neighbouring Rifflsee ski area is popular with families and, unlike the glacier, it’s possible to ski down to the valley and the resort village of Mandarfen.
