The delightful neighbouring villages of Lofer and Unken have long welcomed guests from all over Europe and the ski area is especially suited to families and mixed ability groups. Most of the skiing is concentrated on the Loferer Alm, which borders Germany, and from here splendid views can be enjoyed over the surrounding mountains. Lofer and Unken offer a good range of amenities for evening entertainments, while many groups take advantage of the proximity of Salzburg to arrange a visit to this spectacular city, a UNESCO world heritage site.
On The Slopes
The ski area is well-suited to beginners and intermediates. Investments in snowmaking and the north facing slopes give good snow cover which, combined with the well groomed pistes and modern lifts, has given the area a loyal following. Our groups can choose to stay the whole week on the Loferer Alm or upgrade to ski three days in the Schneewinkl (Waidring – Fieberbrunn – St Johann) at a supplement.
